  • 2 year olds . . . .

. . . they know so much and yet so little.  Enough to lock a door but not enough to unlock that same door just a few seconds later - as I found out the other morning. I stepped into the garage and had gone a few steps when I heard this 'click' behind me.  Immediately I got this sinking feeling, retraced my steps back to the door and found my son had locked it on me.  He was in locked in the house and I was locked outside!  I tried to coax him to 'do it again' but to no avail.  Needless to say all other doors and windows were locked (trust me, I checked them all several times) and none of the neighbors were home so I could use their phone to see if Jeff was anywhere in the area.  So this mama had to decide which would be the cheapest to replace - doorknob, door or window - and decided to bust the doorknob!  An hour later I was back in the house and this particular 2 year old looked at me and said 'Hey', almost as if to say, 'It's so good to see you - Where have you been??!!'  Gotta love 'em!   DSC02219 DSC02217

His daddy was just glad I decided to go for the doorknob rather than a window!

  • The last couple of weeks have been different than normal (if there is such a thing) around our house, but they've been good.  A month ago today we moved - very exciting!  Just half a mile down the road from where we were but we have more land and a bigger house that's only 3 years old!  We did alot of repainting - in fact, we repainted the whole house - but that's done now and we're pretty much settled.  At least I know where almost everything is  It's feels so good to have room when company comes and even just for Carson to run around.  He loves it here.  We also moved him to a toddler bed and that went much better than I had hoped.  Now I have a couple of weeks left for potty training before some other permanant changes - or should I say one little bundle that will make a big change!

My parents were here for a week and left yesterday afternoon.   We had a great time with them and Carson had a blast too, especially since grandpa brought the 4-wheeler again.

One of Carson's favorite things to do is to ride with daddy on any kind of equipment - lawnmower, tractor, etc.

Here Jeff had been washing our vehicles and this is how I found both Carson and his daddy afterward - playing in the mud puddle!  They were having a blast.

Riding with grandpa and helping him with the controls.  Mom & I tried several times to get him to smile or wave but he wouldn't do either.  Just gave us this look like 'I'm too big for that!'

Grandma was definitely a preference over mommy while they were here - most of the time.  Maybe cause grandma's feeding him a chocolate dessert??

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARSON!

It's hard to believe that my baby has turned 2!  I guess I better let my heart know that he's not a baby anymore - or not.  As long as my head knows it.  Anyway, here's a couple of pix from his birthday party.
